Ok I have givin up on wanting a dwarf burm, to costly at this time.
So my next snake I just have to have is a JCP
I know what I have read about them but I would like some advice first hand from some owners.
    I have a few questions

They say they are nippy as juvies but how are they as adults?
What size/type of cage is needed for a adult?
How does the husbandry differ than that of a Bp?
Do they need belly heat or is over head heat all that is needed?

    Any feed back is appreciated
    thanks

    Burned himself I think

    Hey Jotay
Heres the answers for ya. Carpets are/can be nippy as babies and through the juvies but with regular handling and a willingness to not back down when they bite they calm down quite nicely.
Cage Size: For full growns Costals a 8'long x 4'wide x 3-4'high would work nicely. now if your going for an IJ then I'd say 5'long x 3'long x 4' high. And for both snakes make sure you include perches as they are both semi-arboreal and enjoy living "The High Life".
How they Differ from BP's: In my opinion they are more aggressive than BP's, and they like to move alot.
Heating: I'd just stick with overhead heating cause they are Semi-Arboreal and so if they want closer to the heat they don't mind the climb and being perched for awhile.
Anyways hope I helped ya out somewhat and if you've anymore questions just PM me and I'll help ya out.

Humidity! JCP are a higher humidity snake than a BP from what I've read so be sure you have an enclosure that reatins the humidity. If you build your own cage a few coats of sealant or that stuff you seal the walls around a shower with (shower surround?) should work. Also some thing helpful might be to check out http://www.herpview.com/viewtopic.php?t=356 because some guy is having trouble feeding his JCP right now and there are lots of posts on JCP care....
