    Shipping with UPS?

A few years ago I had a big-name breeder ship a ball python to me via UPS. I was surprised: I thought UPS didn't take snakes?

Now I've got a buyer who is pushing me to ship him a snake via UPS. His reasons are legit, having to do with UPS having a more convenient shipping center in his area, and a better record of finding his office without problems---but again, I thought UPS doesn't take snakes?

UPS use to allow live reptiles to be shipped but their policies have changed. Some people are still "grandfathered" in and can ship, but unless you are one of the exceptions you cannot ship via UPS.

Okay, maybe the grandfathering explains why [big name breeder] sent me one via UPS.

That would probably be why, UPS is only allowed for those few still grandfathered in.

I had a big snake shipped to me by a big breeder UPS and the driver came out of the truck with a big smile enjoying his day while the box was upside down and he was spinning it in his hands
