Just in case anyone is interested, LLL has Zoo Med canned beardie food listed on their specials page for 3 for $0.99. Just thought I'd give a heads-up. It also applies to tegu/monitor, turtle, and iguana food.

Dandelions are a bit bitter, but make for a healthful salad. Violets are high in vitamin A. Nasturtiums taste just like radishes but are much cooler looking on a plate. Earthworms are low in fat and high in protein. That might get you started on feeding them cheaper. Preteen and early teen girls ain't exactly cheap to maintain either.

How are you supposed to buy more snakes if these kids insist on eating every day? The snakes only look for food weekly.

Yes, but the kids have faster metabolisms. The key is to fill them up with wholesome stuff found in your yard.
