K, got a question, I have looked all over for pieces of slate, or marble, cant find any! I need it for my baby monitor, so he has a basking rock of some sort... so, heres my Q.. think it would be safe to go to the creek here in town and pick out a few rocks..boil then and use them? If not , any ideas?

i don't see what the problem would be if you bleached and boiled them.

Thanks Will, thats what I figured, but just wanted to be sure.... I have waited a long time to get this baby savanna, so I dont want to do anything that'd be bad for him.

Careful about that boiling rocks thing. Might want to bake them instead. Or go to a garden supply store and look for paving stones.

Be wary of paving stones as well. They are usually stained and I'm not sure if they contain any toxins.

he should just need an area he can bask comphtorably.
You don't really need it to be a rocked type area.
Might save you some trouble
