Is Aspen made for mammals safe for snakes?

I just purchased some aspen wood shavings for mammals because its cheaper than snake aspen.
The aspen is made by Grreat Choice.
Is it safe for my snakes?
    Thanks!

Re: Is Aspen made for mammals safe for snakes?

Somebody back me up on this, but I don't see why not.

What would the difference between mammal vs reptile shavings be?

My only guess would be that maybe they're chemically treated differently somehow.... if they're even chemically treated.

And you could probably check on the back to see if there's any odd chemicals.

If you wanted to be uber-safe, you could rinse them and then dry them..... *Shrug.*

I really don't see why not though. Maybe I'm clueless.

I don't think there's a difference at all, except the snake aspen comes in a smaller package and costs a lot more.

We've been using the same great choice aspen that's available at every petsmart across the country for quite a while now with no ill effects. And I think the only other people that buy another brand are the ones that need to buy in even greater bulk than my gf and I.

I agree with everyone else on there being no difference. Just make sure that there's not too much dust and the shavings are clean and not moldy or having questionable origin.
