he is going into shed mode, so make sure your humidity levels are up aroun 70-80 percent. Misting may be needed to bring this up. And yes start bringing the levels up now. Most bp's do not like to be handled while in shed mode because it already is causing enough stress. So let it do its thing. Does he have a humid hide setup? this is easily done by placing a sponge in his hide or attaching it to the top.

walmart sells digital hygrometers/thermometer with a seperate probe so you can read the cool side and the warm side. What do you mean by your hide is over the water?

That's the way Snyder's humid hide is set up now, too, and she just had a perfect shed. He should be fine. Once his eyes clear up and he can see again, you can handle him and he should be as fine with it as he normally is.

70 for humidity is fine i would mist him twice a day if you have him in an aquarium but if hes in a rubbermaid or something that holds humidity better then once a day would be fine picking him up once during the shed cycle shouldn't have any ill effects on the shed just try to leave him alone until he completes the shed
