I hope my two females calm down. They are cage aggressive, but the second you get them out they are all sweet and docile. My males on the other hand are puppy dog tame and dont hesitate to just scoop them up.

Hook train . . . get them started young. I hook trained my youngest female retic and after 2 weeks of it, I can now just show the hook to her and grab her out of the cage. No aggression. My adult male was hook trained when I got him, and he is super aggressive if you try and take him out without touching his head with a hook first. My two cents.

Retics are my passion. Just ask.

X2 on hook training! No other way IMO!
Mine is food aggressive more than cage aggressive. He thinks it's time to eat anytime the cage is opened. One small tap from the hook and he relaxes. While he is still smallish, I pull him out with the hook as well to be on the safe side. I do the same with my burm. She doesn't pay much attention to the door opening, but I want to keep it that way!

Thanks Everyone.
I do use the hook to get her out. It usually just makes her more frustrated and she wont go into flight mode.
Also unpredictable outside the cage.
Woohoo!
