    spider x pastel het hypo clutch results.

    1.0 spider
    1.0 bee
    1.0 normal
    0.1 pastel
    0.1 normal
    all poss het hypo

    here's a pic of the spider and bee, the rest of the clutch is in shed and wont hold still for a pic.

    i kind of got beat up on sex ratios this year, but im happy to have a pile of healthy babies.

    I do have one question, what dose Het "HYPO" mean?

    The HYPO part I know what HET means.

    Het hypo is usually the same as het orange ghost. Any morph that has the word ghost in it means hypomelonistic. The dark pigment is reduced which gives them that bright and ghostly look. Orange ghost is the most common and is compatible with some of the other lines of ghost so the breeder may choose just to call het orange ghosts het hypos. Hope that helps.

    Hypo is a recessive trait which means it needs to be homozygous to be visual i.e. it needs to carry 2 of the same recessive gene traits... A het carries one of those traits. Somebody who knows biology and stuff could probably explain it better in a more scientific sense.

    So a spider HET hypo carries one non visual hypo trait. It means that if you breed it to a visual or another HET you can produce visual hypos.
