I've read that bps drink very little, and if anything they do it after a meal. Well, I just put Amber back in her cage and look back about 5 mins later, to see this:
just stuck her head out of the warm hide, took a drink, and retreated back in. Just figured I'd post this up cause I've heard some people say they've never even had the chance to see them drink..

I think that they mostly drink at night, after we go to bed. I have gotten up in the middle of the night, looked in, and caught Goblin drinking. I never see him drink during the day! This is why i started changing their water at night, rather than in the morning.

I believe they have to drink every day, I catch Samson drinking all the time. He does it mostly at dusk when the sun is going down, but every now and then he will just crawl over to his water bowl and lay around it and drink at night. Sometimes when he gets out to explore i will wait a few minutes to see if he wants to drink some water before i get him out of his tank, most of the time he will.

She had eaten about 20 mins prior to me taking that picture. I've heard that they usually like to take a drink after a meal.
I have never caught her soaking in her bowl though. Do some snakes just prefer not to?

hydra soaks and drinks in the midday, and i think she sleeps the rest of the day cause she needs her energy to try and escape from me at night. I always catch her trying to escape at night time while watching her.

I can't really speak for everyone & I Know that I have only had Hissy for a couple weeks, but she seems to hate water. I know it sounds wierd but I swear, she crawls on her water bowl a lot but never lets her body touch the water & anytime she gets hit with mist when i mist the tank she hisses. The closest I see her come to takin in any water is either when she roams the tank at nite & rubs on the back wall that is still wet with humidity or sometimes she likes to lay with her head resting on one of the humidity mats that i have in her tank. Other than that, she seems to try hard to avoid water.
Life is like a game of poker. You can play each hand to the best of your ability but you are still going to run into a bad beat from time to time. What matters is how you handle it. Do you go on tilt or can you maintain your composure & rebuild your stack?
