    Found a cat NEED ADVICE!

About a 2 weeks ago a cat moved on to my porch. He/she is an all black long haired cat.. he/she has a mangled tail (old injury). He/she talks constantly, loves to sit on you lap, and goes limp when you pick heshe up and starts puuuurrrriinnng. I need to find a place for this cat, I have two and I cannot keep it. I have contacted local no kill shelters and no one has responded, all of the county shelters have and have put up posts on their sites for me. Its going to get cold soon, I worry about a black cat out and about on halloween, I worry she is going to get hurt.. any ideas? please help, I would keep this cat if I could..

So I know no one particularly cares... but I will be taking the cat to the local county shelter this week. Fingers crossed he gets adopted. PM me if anyone in the NOVA area would be interested in taking him. he is very sweet.

    Good luck!

Our two cats were half year old kittens that lived under our windowsill out back for two weeks.. then we decided to lure them inside with a trail of freezerburned wild alaskan salmon

It was a long journey getting them to trust us, but here we are 13 months later and have two loving cats, both ask for attention and petting (and food, lol), one even actively jumps in my lap to curl up/be groomed/sleep at least three or four times a day. The other is still shy about being held or being a lap cat, but seeks us out to sit next to us and very much enjoys grooming.

Good luck with your alley kitty, we've saved a few others from the impending cold here in MN. The actively human-friendly ones are the most likely to get adopted, so I think yours will have some luck.

Re: Found a cat NEED ADVICE!

It's not easy when you try to do a good thing.

Kept a little puppy for about 2 weeks in my house, with my cat, and finally ended up having to take her to a shelter.

I'll tell you this story though....... Little kid is walking along the beach and picking up these starfish that have washed ashore, tossing them back into the water. The starfish on the shore go on for as far as the eye can see. Suddenly, an old man walks up to the little kid and asks what's going on. The kid replies, "Saving these starfish." The old man looks puzzled and answers, "You can't save them all. Look how many there are!" The little kid, undeterred, picks up another starfish and chucks it into the water, then says "Saved that one," with a smile.

Moral of the story, you can't save them all. You can definitely save some though and that's already what you're doing.

This is Notmycat... he is lovely.

I would keep him but we have already adopted two cats one of which is a Japanese bob tail... she is slightly retarted (no joke, actually is) has asthma and is overweight (despite my protests). It was hard enough getting her to open up I dont think she could handle the competition of another cat.
