    New pet rats.

    I just got two rats yesterday their pets and gonna be used for breeding but I was wondering what kind they are?? I know the female is a dumbo but not what else my mom picked them up for me.

    they have a bigger hide but this is the one they wanna be in all time haha

    Looks like a russian blue(dark one) and an american blue.
    They are not compatible if that's what the dark on is.
    Assuming the dark one is a russian blue you'd end up with vlack or beige rats depending on eye color, and all babies would carry russian blue and american blue.

    I think the dark one is regular mink as the coat is not ticked..

    So in order to get blue again I'd have to take mom to a son or dad to a daughter? My nephew wants a blue one for a pet so I told my sister if momma has one he can have it. These are my first rats owned and their kinda fun to play around with looking forward to the breeding, I feel another hobby forming 😬 hmmm

    Agreed with Jerry, though that last picture looks like the Russian has brown in it? If so it is a russian blue agouti, but certainly russian
