i am working on building a big cage for my 8 ft bci and its about 3/4 done and i am tinking of going with the outdoor indoor astro turf like carpeting form home depot for like 20 bucks gives me a 6 by 8 piece witch give me 3 pieces 2 by 8
so i was wondering if any of you use it for you big tanks??
now this is for a snake thats a pet and a pal so i want him seen and know i can use paper and all that but i just was thinking this would just dress up the cage a little

It's hard to keep clean, isn't absorbant, and as stated above is very abrasive.

    I would use something else.

That stuff would not be the greatest. To me anything like that is begging to harbor bacteria from fecal/urate material. It's really about whats best for the animal, I would suggest aspen or paper.

I think aspen looks lovely. the color reminds me of a beach, and looks very nice with greenery.

Lol I thought I was just weird. I used reptibark at first, so when I switched to aspen it was a MAJOR color difference! I thought it looked very tropical with the waterfall and the greenery I had in Loki's tank, and the color is pretty much the color of sand. I don't live near the ocean (about 3 hours away actually) but I'd love to! The ocean is one of my all-time favorite places.

Yea i had used cypress mulch and repti bark before so when i tried aspen it looked funny. And sani chips look ALOT like sand.

I love the ocean but CT's beaches suck . Beaches down south are wayyy nicer
