Is it true that retics are one of the most aggressive snakes available in the pet trade?

I haven't had experience with hundreds of retics, but I can say my girl is very well behaved but very food motivated when it comes to feeding (she'll strike the side of her tub at times). I wouldn't call her aggressive at all though, I believe it depends on how you work with them. Bloods have a bad rap too but my two are also very nice.

I don't think so. They do move fast and may be more active than a lot of snakes, paired with their size it can be intimidating.

I think that's where they get a bad rep about aggression. They have an incredible feeding response.

Nice new super jamp enjoy they are wonderful i have around a dozen retics and there great. Retics are not the most agresive snakes. They have been captive breed for many generations now dont put your guard down they do become a impresive and powerful snake hook training is great and learning cage aggresion most pepole see there retic looking mean in cage and never hold it because there scared i say get a hook or even tap with paper towel tube too break feed response or deffensive behavor.

Yep, neither of my retics are aggressive as long as I use the hook to open the cage and tap them on the head before pulling them out. If I just open the cage with no hook though, better be prepared for some massive strikes with their expectation of food. It's not only the diligence of the snake, but also that of the keeper that make it easier to deal with. Supers are often very flighty, and they are still quite powerful. I'd expect yours to get in the area of 7-8'. And never let your guard down when you have it out of the cage. Even though you may not get bit, it may manage to get away from you. My 8' male would dissapear on me if I left him unwatched out of the cage for more than a second! Fun snakes though!

Retics are my passion. Just ask.
