That side swipe blows me away. How difficult are they to keep and breed?

In general they are great snakes. With all species, including ball pythons there are some that are more on hedge but you cannot treat the two species the same way. Blood pythons are very heavy bodied and are uncomfortable up off the ground, but if you approach them that way, they are very easy and laid back. Lots of fun to keep.

They are easy to keep but again, different than ball pythons. They need to be kept cooler. Breeding is not all that complicated but they do not breed at as young of an age as ball pythons.

They are the only snake I keep these days. I love them.
