I am looking at buying a lemon pastel baby girl. I currently have a normal male. By chance does anyone have an idea of what the outcome would be?

    Lemon Pastel X Normal=??????

Go to this link, and just replace albino with lemon pastel

Nope...doesn't quite work that way. Pastel is a dominant trait, while albinoism is a recessive. I don't know much about the "lemon" part...but if you mate a Pastel with a normal, you'll get, on average 1/2 of your clutch as pastels and 1/2 as normals.

But thanks for the vote of confidence anyway. It only applies to recessive traits tho. If you ever see anyone offering a "het pastel" or "het spider" RUN, RUN AWAY!

Or a het mojave while we're on it...You'd be suprised how many scammers there are out there....Oh, and here is a link to all the traits that are recessive and the ones that are dom/co-dom as we know them to be right now:

    Recessive: http://www.newenglandreptile.com/gen...recessive.html
    Double recessive: http://www.newenglandreptile.com/gen...recessive.html
    dominant/co-dominate: http://www.newenglandreptile.com/genetics_codom.html

Just scroll down on those pages and you'll find the "list". It's nice, because they also explain how those genes work.

Definitely good links. Can we add those to the "Links" on the homepage?
