I really like the Sterilite 49 qt. drawers, but be prepared to use bungee cords to prevent escape out the front by a strong or sneaky snake. They stack well and don't allow for escape out the back or from underneath if you have it on a solid, flat surface. For a full-size adult bp, there are bins sold for wrapping paper that are long and fairly shallow but provide plenty of floorspace.

I heat with a human heating pad. Depending on where you get the drawers or bins and which one you choose, you're looking at $6-$20 each, plus $10 for the heating pad and $15 for the thermometer/hygrometer combo. If you use stuff you already have for water dish and hide and use a giveaway newspaper for substrate, that puts you at ~$40 to set up.

Yes, it's definitely a lot less expensive than going the aquarium route, and it's easier to maintain humdity and often temps as well. However, it's a lot harder to make it look pretty, so that is a tradeoff you make.
