Most biologically diverse place on earth?
http://phys.org/news/2012-09-amazing...-national.html
With the numbers of species reported it is incredible to think that 2/3 of the total biodiversity has yet to be documented! I would love to get out there myself. I'm not sure that there would be a large number of new reptile species but I feel like the cloud forests would hold a large number of amphibian species.

I enjoy reading stuff like that. Its my dream to visit the Amazon sometime. More people need to open their eyes to the environment and the issues that are affecting it and in turn us. I am studying environmental science and leaning gowards the biology/ zoology side and cant wait to work in the field.

I would love to take a specialized "eco-tour" of the amazon someday, however I doubt that such a thing is offered. I think many people that are biologicallly inclined would be interested in something like that but I may be wrong. I myself have a BS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and am working on a master's in Rangeland Ecosystem Science and I have loved 100% of my classes that are/were core classes for my degrees (I didn't love calc or psychology but they were necessary evils, I suppose, and I still appreciate what they taught me). I only took one zoology class and it was called the "Biology of Spiders". I LOVED it!

Thats sweet. Thanks for the read! I would LOVE to go on an "eco" tour like that archie. Would probably cost alot of money that i dont have though lmao!
Majoring in something like bio/ecology/ zoology would be alot of fun but i dont think it would be practical, for me at least. Still dont know what i wanna do :p

Agreed Mike, it would likely be expensive. You could major in ecology and then open an eco-tour business in the Amazon somewhere! I would love to do something like that, actually. You could simultaneously run experiments and do surveys and even have the "tourists" help with them. As for me, I knew that I would be going active duty Army once I graduated so looking for a job wasn't really a concern. That said, while they aren't the best paying jobs, there are definitely jobs out there in the biological field for the taking, especially if you are smart, hard-wroking and driven to make things happen. Not everyone can do whatever they want but you seem like a smart enough dude with the ability to accomplish what you put your mind to.
