    Anyone's retic do this?

Yesterday was feeding day. He got a nice, big, juicy rat, which left a gorgeous lump. Normally, he's out of feeding mode in an hour or so, or at least enough to do temp checks and stuff. I mist his cage twice a day (it's super dry in utah), and when I went to do it tonight, he started snapping at the water like a dog would do with a hose...observe:

Anyone see this before? It wasn't a one time thing, either...I had to show the boyfriend too, cause I think it's hilarious, and he did it again! hahaha. Not the best video, I know, but you get the drift of what's going on. He was doing it with a lot more vigor earlier, and snapping multiple times at it...one of the times, he left his mouth open while i was spraying xD

Mine will do it sometimes, it's sometimes a feed mode, sometimes defensive thing, they will do it for a few different reasons. Yours looks like a food mode thing.

I hadn't thought about cage defensive! Good to know it looks like feeding mode...may have to suck it up and take him out today to get him out of it. Thanks for the info!

Since I keep my girl in a rack I don't really watch her eat. Interesting behavior though.

this is just a defensive mode . . . my Jungle Carpet male does this anytime he gets misted. My retic doesn't. But my retic is trained extremely well in regards to feeding and handling times. If you're retic is hesitant to get out of the cage, just start working on hook training.

My new tiger girl does that when I mist her, just a little pissed off cage aggression.
