some eat during shed, others don't. It's the cost of a mouse. Neither right nor wrong, good nor bad.

In my experience, most snakes won't eat during shed, so I don't even offer food until they are done shedding.

Hit or miss - worth a shot if you can spare the rodento. I haven't had a feeding fall at the point in the shed when they are actually getting the skin off but milky blue pre shed doesnt seem to deter them too much.

Snyder is definitely more jumpy until her eyes are clear but if she's hungry enough and it moves enough, she'll grab it anyway. But she's considerably more annoyed at me for taking her out to feed her in the first place. So far there doesn't seem to be a problem with the boys feeding during shed.

Some snakes will eat during shed...many won't. If yours will, it probably won't hurt them, although I've heard about increased risks of regurging. But I know for sure it won't hurt them a bit to skip a meal for a week until the shed is finished. That would be the equivelent of us skipping breakfast because we're not feeling well that morning.

Phil has eaten a couple of times when he was in the middle of his shed cycle, and suffered no apparent ill effects. It just seems to depend on the individual snake.
In some ways, it seems the stretching that occurs from swallowing the prey helps loosen the skin for Phil. Feeding or no feeding, make sure the humidity stays up there during the shed. I use some 9" glass pie plates I bought from a thrift store for water dishes/soak bowls for my BP's. Large, shallow, and inexpensive, plus, being glass, they can be thoroughly sterilized if need be. They're also not real easy for the snakes to tip. When the BP's get larger, I'll probably switch to something like pyrex cassarole dishes.

Mine went into shed mode a day after eating, and was done just in time fir its next feeding.

I have fed my bp during her shed and had the same results as when she was not sheding. I think it depends on the snake. If you can spare a rodent, you might try it again to see if it was just a "phase" it was going though.
