I just ordered Rep-Cal from Big Apple. It'll be the first calcium supplement I've ever used...so I can't say I have a favorite.

As for gut-loading...use whatever works. Again, I don't have the experience (yet!) to answer that. But I'll tell you what I discovered in my own research. Gut-loaded crickets die MUCH faster than regularly fed crickets...so be careful. Only load up the ones you intend to feed the next day...about 12 hours before feeding to the leos.

I use this tuff that says herp care on it. Works really well. I dust everything with it.

Get the gut load that is sold in small cubes of green jello like stuff. If you've got a spare 10 gallon you could keep so many crickets...

I use Re-Cal as well. Great stuff. Best on the market IMO. For gutloading you want to offer a variety of food....mainly protein (dry dog food works perfect), fresh fruit and veggies, potatos, and spirulina flakes (fish food).

How on earth could you keep crickets in an aquarium and not have a bad monster movie every time you opened the top?

Aha, so there's not some easy secret to it that I just didn't know about? I thought the answer was going to be something along the lines of "Duh, Marla, you use the Super Duper Cricket Keeper Tank Top (TM)!" or some such.
