    Hello all,
I figured it was time to introduce one of my favorite lizards in the sancuary.
Meet Ripper. She is a 6 foot Nile Monitor female. She came to me approx 4 years ago from a very good couple. They took care of her very well, but were choosing to have a baby. So they asked me if Ripper could stay with me forever. We try to give people the options of where their animals go. And with Ripper being a Nile Monitor she would have to stay with us anyhow due to her size and stature. Ripper is very smart and deceptive. She is definatly not scared of humans and will charge wheneve possible. Whenever she acts up, my husband says "Ripper, you're just like your mother"..lol
    Enjoy some pics...
    "Mom, where's my food?"

    "MMM Yummy chicken livers"

    "whatch it, I'm still hungry!"

I hope you guys like her pics
    Thanks

Hey Rusty! Looks like you got a live one on your hands! Ripper is such a cutie! What is that meat she's eating?

Oh yeah, and I'm gonna go ahead and move this to the "monitors" forums.

Hehe....that's an awfully cute bowl she's eating her raw liver from! Maybe you can keep her in line by threatening to tell all the other monitors what a cute little bowl she eats out of! LOL

Impressive animal, by the way! Very impressive!

Oh come on Jon, you know you want to give her a kiss..lol
Yes she is very much a handfull. That was a quick treat of Chicken liver and I beleive their was a few Hissing roaches and ground turkey also in it. She is a big eater!
Her bite hurts a great deal too. She got me about three years ago on the hand (It was absolutely my own fault, as I just wasn't paying attention). It definatly hurt, but I just cleaned it up and glued it tight, and went on my way. The next day my hand was swollen and a funky greenish color. (that was not very pretty), so they removed some necrtic tissue at the er, I wore a brace for about a week so the tendons and such could grow together, reform, whatever tendons do..lol
But she is still my favorite. She definatly keeps you on your toes.
Thanks for moving this too, I never know to post pics in the "pictures forum" or only bp pics their. Someday I'll get with the program..lol
    Thanks
