I just had this great idea to build a 2nd smaller cage for when my bp sheds (like now  ). This way, I could moniter the humidity better to insure a good shed. What y'all think about that??

Changing habitats is stressful for a snake, so while it would make humidity control easier, I think the burden on the snake is too big an issue to make it worthwhile. Stable environments make happy reptiles.

My Anniversary!!
Maybe I'll just make a humid hide that I could use until she's finished...

Yeah, I have no expertise whatsoever but humid hides sound like a sweet idea to me - or you could try the holey-lid water dish method but be sure she doesnt drown.

your best bet is to just simply mist the cage a bit once or twice a day during shed periods.

I don't move my snakes in different rubbermaids during shed times, but I do make some changes to the one they're in. I moisten the substrate (aspen) and also add in some moist sphagnum moss. I really don't need to mist daily because i put in a large water bowl on the warm side of the r-maid and it creates great humidity. If needed, I do mist, but then again my house is gas-heated and therefore it's
drier than the sahara desert in there, so rubbermaids are the best choice.
Doing this, I have always had snakes that came out with flawless, one-piece sheds.
