Russians are a good choice! Males get to about 8" long, females about 10" long. They do well indoors as long as you have a sufficiently large enclosure and a good UV bulb.

I was planning on a wooden tortoise table about 6 foot long, and 3 foot wide. I seen some people say the bigger the better for tortoise tables. Is this true? Are these measurements going to be alright? Im going to build a a hide in the cool end of the table and hang up a heat lamp on the warm end. I think Im going to go with the Russians.

That size would be great for a Russian Just make sure the heat lamp is also a UV lamp! The best one on the market right now is the ZooMed Powersun, 100W.
If you're looking to buy a captive bred hatchling, I got mine here: http://ivorytortoise.com/ These guys are great, have a wonderful reputation and take good care of their tortoises.
If you need more info, check here: http://russiantortoise.net/index.htm It has the best care info for Russians I've seen anywhere, plus there is a link to an active forum if you have other questions that aren't answered there.
I noticed you said "Russians" in your post - not sure if you meant you would want to get more than one, but if so I can tell you that Russian tortoises are a lot like BPs - not very social and don't usually do well living together, with some rare exceptions. Just so you know!
