Ok i decided just to go out and get some human heating pads they are the kind that have low medium and high settings. Its like 13"X13" and even on low the temps get close to 97 and when have the lamp on the air temp on the warm side is around 94 and cool side is 80. I use aspen bedding and i put about 2" at the bottom to seperate my BPs from the bottom of the tank a little. What i have started doing is turning off the lamps at night and the air temp drops to about 85-87 on the warm side.
The temps dont seem to bother them but they cant exactly tell me that its too hot can they. Does anyone else have this problem? Oh i am using 30"x12"x12" tanks with a screen top. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Damien

Here's an idea: put a few layers of newspaper under the aspen. If they can burrow in the aspen, they're not likely to go under the newspaper too, and that should protect them from extreme temps in the range you're talking about.
