    New Baby pics!

    Hey Guys,

I got in there to switch out the bedding tonight and thought I would snap some pictures.
There is 12 (first litter) and they didn't eat any of the babies which is awesome.
All of them are a live and attaching to mom .

Wow I never get over the fact they come out with hair already. I noticed with mine if I clean there cages when there still pinkies sometimes the moms get freaked out and eat there own babies.

Nice, they are so cute and tiny!!

My mice had a litter today too. It's the 3rd or 4th litter (keep them all together, and they thrive) :-) no eating either, went from 6 mice 1:5, now at least 37.

Lol! Thats funny they come out with some hair! I dont have any ASFs but 2 of my girls who I didnt think were pregnant last time I posted (not sure how cuz one of them was HUGE the day before she dropped a litter of 12) actually dropped and so I got my 1st two litters this week too! I didnt think breeding rats would be so cool! I would like to get a small ASF colony going but dont know of anyone who breeds ASFs...

    Re: New Baby pics!

    hahahaha @joey!

I am actually having trouble getting one of my ball pythons to eat and the vet recommended putting a few pinkies in a dish or something, and leaving the in the enclosure and sometimes that can entice them to eat ?? :S I've never heard of this but now I have pinkies so I can try lol..

Mind you she also recommended heat lamps over UTH's because UTH's burn animals. I was in no mood to argue - I just informed her that I have a 300 dollar thermostat regulating the temperature, she seemed mortified that he doesn't have a UV bulb. Its kinda sad when you have to correct the vet about their ideas on proper husbandry.. haha.

She told me it was dangerous to feed live, but that I should go to the pet store and get a gerbil to feed to him..

:S dunno what to say, I suppose it would be irresponcible for me not to at least try but I was a little annoyed that I paid $100 to find out what I already knew.

    ANYWHO...

These ASF are uber cute. I can't wait till they are fuzzy. Fuzzy ASF are the cutest.

    Updates on the babies!!!!!!!!!!

All of them are doing well, none of them seem to be lagging behind or "runting," haha.

Just thought I'd snap some pictures of them at a week and a half old.

    Cheers.

    Hey Guys,

I've been taking pictures as they make noticeable changes.. haha
I have 2 stages to show you so here we go.

    And today I snapped these.
They are jumping around like crazy I had a hard time getting them to stay still long enough for a photo! haha
Eyes are totally open. I'm assuming they need a few more weeks before I pull them away from their parents.
I have a whole slew of questions but I'll open a new topic tonight about my Q's LOL.

These will probably be one of the last snapshots of me handling them before they get teeth and start being aggressive. Mom and Dad are pretty violent with me so I can only assume I'll see the same behavior in them.

I hope you enjoyed them. I most certainly did!!

    Cheers,
    Chris.
