Very little documentation on this plated lizard as far as humidity requirements go. While there is some related to other varieties of plated (Madagascan etc) there are no hard numbers and having taken readings of 15% avg I am not sure that isn't too dry. Temp wise he is good to go with a basking area in the mid 90's and a cool side in the upper 70's. He is a voracious eater taking a furry and 20 crickets a week along with kiwi/tomatoes/mangoes as available (he digs a nice juicy snack).

I know only that they need semi-arid as they are found on steppes and border savannah areas near Sudan (20-30%??). Was just curious if anyone had ever kept one of these guys or knew more specifics on humidity for them.

I've been kept by a few, I kept their humidity at around 20 - 25%. They seemed to do well. No health issues arised for us. They do love to eat don't they!

Thanks both! A little more coverage on the top of his cage ought to do the trick for that.

Yep they are robust and anything but petite - blows me away to watch how much he can put down. But really an awesome pet.
