Well, the wife caved in, (mainly because I will have a dedicated snake/spider room in the new house) and I got a new tarantula today. Picked up an acanthoscurria geniculata at my local reptile shop today for $20. Here is a page of pics of what it will look like grown, and here is a pic of it now, eating a pinhead cricket:

wow, thats gonna be one heck of a cool tarantula! is this one that you be able to handle? or you mosty in it just to take care of it and enjoy how awesome it looks. congrats on the cool new addition. im jealous, i want more tarantulas.

It's not one to handle, from what I've read.
Most caresheets say that if you put something in their cage, they will try to eat it (fingers included!) Sounds like a retic feeding response! They are supposed to make a great display animal, though.
