Snake Hooks?

Have you guys ever heard of people using snake hooks to retrieve their BPs out of there enclosures?

LOL wizil. I just posed this question on another forum because I actualy read this in a BP care sheet wich seemed very detailed and professional. I think I read it on kingsnake.com it was called "BP troubleshooting guide" or something like that. Any way it suggested the use of am snake hook when retrieving them from an enclosure and youd be suprised at how many people feel that its needed.
Well tommorow Im gonna know one way or the other. :shock:

i've never heard of anybody using snake hooks for a bp, but if you feel more comfortable doing it then more power to ya.

If you want to use one, go ahead. I personally see no point to it, unless of course the individual ball python is really fiesty. But then again, I have a really fiesty ball python that bites the crap out of me, and it doesn't hurt. The teeth are barely big enough to leave a mark, though they still do. I'm sure the breeder would have let you know if the baby you are buying is more on the "nippy" side, as they are rather rare IMO. But if it makes you more comfortable, then go right ahead.

Ummm I didnt say I was getting one, I just said that I read about it and posted the opinion question at another forum "what do you think about that?" and I was suprised at some responses I got.

No, although Ive never owned a snake , and tommorow will be my first I actualy trust you guys here at ball-pythons.net. I ve taken all the advice given me so far, from enclosure size/type , heating , humidity,substrate, hides,etc,etc.
Im sure over the next few weeks some new questions will arise once my snake gets to me, and once again this is where Ill go for my information.

Uh hum..lol
I have used snake hooks on a bp, only one out of the countless we have rescued, but this poor thing just bit and bit, (I would too if I had to go through what that poor bp went through)
We also have many other snakes that, well let's just say aren't as docile as a bp, so we have them in house anyway.
If you are not comftorable going in to pull out your BP. it can be a very very usefull tool.
