Hey ya'll....thanks so much for all the info and support!

I wrote up a little "paper" and handed it to hubby yesterday. I included all the available statistics for fatal non-venomous snake attacks and proved that every single one of them happened with snakes MUCH larger than BPs ever get. (And also that they happened because of severe negligence on the part of the keeper!) I also included some comments that Randy offered. I think seeing that a long-time cop with kids the same ages as ours really helped him see that they are not such an unreasonable risk. And then I finished up with Marla's reminder that it's not the snakes he needs to trust, but me. And he does trust me. How could he argue that???

He actually seemed relieved and relaxed about the idea...more so than at any other time thus far in my "quest for snakes."

SOOOO...I'll soon be joining the ranks of you wonderful ball owners! Well...not all that soon...I still have to wait until we move this summer and get settled into the new home. But I'm SO excited! I'm already scouring classifieds and websites and studying all the different caging options available. It probably seems silly to ya'll, but having gone from "NO, I just can't tolerate another snake in the house" to "Alright, I guess you can get one this summer" ( he said with a smile!)...that's HUGE for me!

Anyhow...sorry for rambling. I'll start a new thread asking about cages and such. Gotta know what to save my pennies for!

Congrats!!! That's such good news. The summer seems far, but it really isn't. You'll have a new scaley addition in no time!

Congratulations! Sounds like things went smoothly.

Actually, considering the upcoming move, the summer seems all too close. I'm not looking forward to it. But then again...now I am! LOL

I will definitely consider that if he has babies he wants to sell when I start seriously looking!

Well, I can hope. At this point in time, he doesn't go anywhere near the gopher we have. But maybe someday we can enjoy working together on this!

    Thanks again ya'll!

That's wonderful, Judy! I'll bet he will come around on the bp eventually, starting by getting interested in how it moves or looks or eats. One of those usually hooks 'em.

Congrats, Judy! Glad we could help you out!
My pair did the snakey shakey, but she didn't give me any eggs.....
Oh, well, I'll have at least three females ready for this next year, and I'll give it another shot!

A couple of my females have been copulating with a few males, so if ya want, I'll definately keep you in mind if they decide to give me some eggs, Judy.

That's too bad to hear Randy. But there's always next year!
