What kind of strange and unusual things do your bp's do? I have been using several layers of newspaper and my bp has found a way to get under a layer. He's been hiding there for a couple days. He comes out at night, but by morning he is back under there again. Found it a little odd.

Izabelle usually knows its feeding time when I reach for the "happy meal container" and head to the store. The container has a bright orange lid and no matter at what distance nor where I place it, I see her peering little eyes following it from her hide. Similar when ya shake the cat food bag and the cats come running or yell "SUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEE" at the hogs BTW not a farmer...hehehe.

Well, we did this not too long ago, so in case people don't feel like "double posting", here is the link:

Oh, and I was reading up alittle bit on that (how your bp goes under the paper towels to hide), and I think it has to do with how they like their backs to be touching something when they are hiding, like it makes them feel more secure or something. Makes sense to me. Just thought I'd throw that out there. It does make for a cute scene when you open the cage, though.

our newer BP (last recue, adult) is a nut, after iso time passed, we wanted to see if he would go in with the others, and he flipped out, no literally flipped out! turned upside down ets. no biting or striking, just some fun jerking movements!
Now let me tell you I strated frieking out, thinking, IBD, & stargazing disorders etc, but no, after being seperated and watched (like a hawk!) he is just fine. Just doesn't want to be around the others. So he got a nice big cage all to hinmself. Lucky boy!

Rusty, maybe he had some kind of trauma before being housed with other snakes. I'd say he got his message across clearly enough, tho!

oh yeah he did, fubnny guy..lol
he is a big boy who was rescued from an animal cruelty / drug arrest case. so I am sure he has had a long life. My husband and I joke around that he is probably still high from the fumes of his last owner..lol
But he is doing great now, he is the king of a custom built enclosure (approx. 60 gallons) so he is pretty happy

Wow, 60 gallons? That's quite the enclosure. How do you find room to house everything? I'm glad your rescue is doing okay. There's no telling what he'd been exposed to. He may have been housed at some point with snakes of other species who bit him or something.

My husband is a very creative builder..lol
he is very good at coming up with magnificient ideas and building skills. I hope to be able to buy him some new power tools as he has NONE as of now. His last power drill was a very cheap product and just isn't cutting it.
So if anyone knows much about powertools or recommendations please let me know.
I am looking at a Dewalt kit with a drill (18v) and two kinds of saws etc. But that is also about four hundred dollars. So if anyone has ideas please let me know.
But yeah, our house is very full of enclosures. But they are all as naturalistic as possible so they are very nice "furniture peices". People that come over, even the ones who don't like reptiles, are very impressed with the way we have fit the cages together in the house..lol
It is frustrating at times thou. (My husband at the moment has the whole living room apart to fit in a 55G fishtank we have to set up for our pacu), that's a long story about that dang Pacu(arrrgggghhh)
Thanks

That's cool that you've been able to just work the enclosures into the home environment. When I move I won't have a lot of furniture to take with me, so hopefully I can replace some of it with enclosures and work them in as well. Good luck on finding your hubby some nice power tools. I'm afraid I'm one of the last people who could give you info on that because I've never looked into good brands and all that.
