Well I was supposed to take delivery of a 30 gallon tank a girl at work was selling me tonight, but do to the 6+" of snow we got that was postponed. Its just a normal 30 gallon tank with stand... and a brand new (still in bag) Eclipse hood. I've mentioned this to you guys before.

Well the rat I bought 2 nights ago for Andy was a waste. I whacked it and put it in a paperbag with her over night and she was just in the one side lookin at it when i woke up. The rat didn't even move. So I went back to the store to night and bought a feeder mouse thats currently living in my feeder tank. But while I was over there (this is the same store I got Andy from) I was talkin with their snake guy. They've had the same BCI (colombian) since before they had the 5 balls that I got Andy from.

I was like "hey i've got a brand new eclipse hood that I don't need... think we might be able to work somethin out" (as I'm holding a christmas corn)... he's like whatta u thinkin? so i glanced over at the colombian and said "the BCI". He was like well its been here a while and needs a good home (and it does, its last shed was bad, it shed its head completely but the rest of it was horrible, most of it is still on the snake). The humidity in the tank is way way low cause i stuck my hand in the enclosure the other day and it just felt dry which probably explains the bad shed.

But do u think I shuold go for it? I want a BCI, and i don't need the eclipse hood so it sounds sweet to me, but just wanted some more input first.

    Thanks
    -Chris

    WOOT... sorta...

i'd say go for it under 2 conditions... 1, you get to watch it eat first, 2, i'd wait until it sheds next and see if they can't improve it. a bad shed might mean a number of things.

Be careful dude....if they can't even care for a BCI properly then who knows what may be wrong with the snake. BCIs are insanely easy to care for and ones that are unhealthy usually take a long time to get that way.

ok to clarify a little bit. Its last 2 sheds have been fine, the last one it had came off in one piece (i got to watch it shed when i was in ther egettin mice). and i've also seen it eat several times.

It is a bit nippy, and the guy has to wear gloves when he handles it, but from what i've read they're like that as JV's but tend to calm down as adults right?

OK.....so if you get bite it won't be a big deal, lol. I would be very wary though dude....petshops can, as you know, be very dangerous.

go for it if you can bring it to the vet
    (I know that's always my advice..lol)
If you feel that you can properly house it, care for it, feed it and bring it to a qualified DVM, I say why not.
As David B said they are very "durable" snakes.
    good luck
