    Suggested caption, etc.

My bigger bp never uses his hides, like EVER... he constantly sleeps in his branches. As a result of this, I'm worried he isn't being heated properly since I only use heating pads as heat sources. Would you remove the branches?

    What would you do?

Will, I know you know your stuff, so I hope I'm not asking a stupid question. Bubba's a pretty big boy. (Looked at pics this moring). Is the hide too cramped for him?

    Rat pups vs. adult mice

nah, he has two of the largest "hubba-huts" (the half-logs from the pet store) in there. should be plenty of room. and i'm pretty sure they aren't too big also. i would say that ratio-wise, the fit would be the same as peanut and his hides... and he uses his.

He most likely wouldn't stress himself out on purpose just to sit in the branches. If he starts refusing meals or something you can try taking out the branches; but in the mean time I would say just let Bubba be Bubba

    LOL....nope, I think I'm done..

LOL, out of all seriousness, he probably just likes it up there, I really wouldn't worry too much. BUT, since he isn't a very good eater, you can certainly try taking them out and see if it has some sort of an affect on him. If he STILL doesn't use his hide, well then, he just doesn't like the one you gave him.

Maybe the floor is too hot? You never know, I've had thermometers go crazy on me before!

well the cage is set up exactly like my other one, and the temps are all reading correctly. they've been the same for a month now. and he just started sleeping in his branches about 2 weeks ago, but since the first time i noticed, thats the only place he stays.

Maybe he just doesn't like the half log - especially since it's not round? Just a guess. My BP won't use his half log so I put other hides in also. I've heard others say there BP won't use the half log either. Could just be coincendence.

Maybe he just likes hanging' out.
