I have notice how some of you guys talk about giving your BP a bath.
Is this something that should be done?
I was asking because I never see my BP in the water or really ever drink and I was worried about dehydration
His water bowl is on the cool side of the tank but doesnt feel all that cool to the touch.
Was just wondering about the soaking
    thanks

If your BP is dehydrated, it's definitely a good idea to give him a soak. It's also a good idea if he's having trouble shedding. Beyond that, it's entirely up to you and the bp. Some of them like a nice soak. Just make sure you don't have the water too hot or cold for him.

I'm sure he sneaks in a drink or two during the day; you'd be suprised. Is he dehydrated? If so, then more needs to be done then just soaking; but if not, I would just let him be a ball python, and he'll drink when he wants to.

Soaking in not necessary under nomal circumstances, but it will not be detrimental to your BP.

Snakes are very secretive about drinking.....I have only seen a snake of mine drink 2-3 times EVER, lol. As long as he appears OK, chances are he is.

If he flops around, chances are he DOESN'T like it.....when snakes flop, they are either very scared/pissed/or both.

perhaps i should rephrase that, not flops... he swims around.

and when i try to get him out, he doesn't want to come out.

Did he tell you this? LOL.

When you soak a snake, there should not be enough water that the animal is elevated off of the floor of whatever it is in (tub, bucket, etc). If you force a snake to float or swim for long periods of time, they could die of exhaustion.
