Monty finally ate tonight. Yippee!! I have had him for a month and tried a few other times to feed him. Nobody around here had any frozen fuzzy rats in stock. So I had to get a live adult mouse. Put Monty in a storage bin to get him ready to feed. Then proceeded to knock the mouse out. I used the the door jam and a plastic bag. Took a couple tries as I didn't want to do it too hard. Besides, that is one mess I would rather not clean up. Anyway, after the wife calmed down, she hates mice, I took the mouse to Monty and yoink! ........mmmmmmm...... mouse .......... aaaggghhhhhh!!!! Everything went down ok and I put him back in his cage.

    Temps again

Congrats! Isn't it just the best when they accept their prey? Have you tried feeding Monty a rat yet (or f/t)?

Yes. I have previously tried only with frozen thawed fuzzy rats. Which is what he was fed before I got him. When I had tried before, I would leave them in the cage all night. This was before I read that it was better to feed them in something else, besides their cage. He never did eat the f/t rats. So I threw them out, epecially after being out all night. When I went to get some today, the three pet stores around here were out of stock. All they had were pinky mice. So I had to go with a live one. I am going to order some f/t fuzzy rats from rodentpro.com. That way I will have plenty on hand. Thanks.
