OK...you may think I am way over excited about this..BUT...I don't care because I am. I was so nervous about her not taking it...feeding live may not be right...you know. It was her first feed with me. And it went GREAT. I took her outside her home and set her into a box. I waited about 5 minutes then droppped the perfect size hopper in the box. Not ten seconds went by and **SNAP** she took it. It was awesome. I got a great digital video of it too, how do i get it into the downloads section? its only a 12 second clip of her snatching it. But I am thinking that maybe the pet shop did not feed her too often. I don't know, all I know is I am glad she took it that fast.... THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP EVERYONE...

That's great to hear! Yes, I would really try to see if she will take frozen/thawed (f/t) rat pups for you. That way you woudn't have to switch her down the road when she gets big enough to take medium or large adult rats; rat pups don't do as much damage live as the big boys.

If she won't take a f/t rat pup for you, try a pre-killed rat pup (meaning it was alive when you bring it home, but you kill it just before giving it to her, so the body heat is still there). IF she doesn't take that, try a live rat pup, then f/t adult mouse, etc. But it doesn't sound like she would give you too much of a problem. Do you know how much she weighs? Baby ball pythons can usually take an adult mouse right out of the egg. But a hopper mouse is a good start for one that probably hasn't eaten very much (at the pet shop). :?

That looks like a good sized mouse already compared to her size. Rat pups would be great, so she can just keep eating larger and larger rats. And you'd never have to worry about her switching over.

    Congrats!
I would also recommend switching to f/T small rats
