    Don't know what to say

My male lemon pastel has been battling with an RI for a couple of months. He's been on medication the entire time. He would get better, then worse and then better and worse. Over the past week I thought he was starting to get over it. He was expelling mucous any more and didn't have any rattle left in his lungs. I checked on him this morning and he seemed to be doing fine, then I came home at lunch to give him his injection and he was stiff as a bored. I'm guessing that his body just couldn't take it anymore.

It's times like this that make me question if I should be keeping these animals at all. I guess the only positive out of this is before he came down with the RI he was paired with my female and she did finally ovulate a few weeks back.

I'm sorry for your loss. RI is tough on any snake. You did your best. Hopefully you get some nice pastels from that clutch.

Don't give up keeping them. All life must end, but how much the life is enjoyed is what matters. It sounds like you honestly tried to safe him and cared about him. Don't blame yourself; you did everything you could.

Oh my I'm sorry to hear this, I understand how you feel, the feeling of loss and anxiousness of keeping some still. You've done everything you possibly could and that's enough baby , hope you'll get through sooner.
