Weird news locally (no snakes)

A coach from my high school was shot and killed. He actually joined the staff right after I finished there, but my cousin went there while he was there. His 17-year-old son was shot and killed as well. This is pretty bizarre for the area where he lived -- just 10 miles or so from me. A lot of folks are leaving nice remembrances and comments at the forum for the football team's web site. I'm sure none have you have ever even heard of Tucker, but thought I'd share anyway because it's so weird.

It was a home invasion gone wrong. I linked the news story at the top of my post. Very strange.

Turns out the guy who killed them, who was shot and killed by the cops, was probably looking to commit suicide by cop. He wasn't hurting for money, unemployed, or freshly dumped by a girlfriend and had no history of criminal activity. What he did have was a mother who killed his grandparents, minister, and herself in October. Very sad that the Venables had to die because this young man was in so much pain.
