Any Ideas

Was wondering if any of y'all has had any of your BPs go to the bathroom in their hidebox. Zeus has always done it in his hidebox rather than in cage outside of his hide. What are y'alls thoughts or insight into why he does this.

lol, mine does that, too. In fact I'm wondering if my infrared bulb isn't driving him nuts because I NEVER see him out and about in his home. ever. never. ever.

ok, I saw him drink twice. Last time was about a week ago.
He's got a nice low hide over the UTH. Caught him cheating yesterday. What he does is; stays in hide on UTH till nice and warm. Then instead of relocating to a colder area, he doubles up till his back touches the top of the hide. Then he can cool down by conduction. When he'll cooler again, he spreads back out till he's loosely coiled and sucks more heat out of the floor! I would like to see him more, but he seems to love that terra cotta so much I just don't have the heart to take it away...................
Oh well, I guess I'd rather have a healthy happy snake that I rarely see than one that is stressed and unhealthy as a result that I get to look at all the time :roll:

Mine does it most of the time in his hide. Why?, guess it is easier to do it where you lay then get out and do it.

They're most likely just lazy. :roll:

But if you want to get all technical about it, hehe. Their instincts probably tell them that they have to stay hidden all day long (given the case they feel the urge to poo during the day), so they don't leave their hide just to take a poo, it's not that important to them (considering it could mean their life in the wild). Ya know?

steelsack, mine does the same thing. I don't ever see him come out of his hide except to get something to drink (even that is rare) or move to the other hide box.

Lately mine has gone poo at night when he is supose to be ative. And believe it or not he even sheds in his hide box. How he does it I don't know, but he does. I both times he has had shed, the old skin has been balled up and located inside his hide.

Hey, we enjoy "indoor plumbing" for relieving ourselves. Maybe our snakes like the convenience of not having to leave the "house" to make a trek for "nature calls"...

mine like to leave a big dump in their hide then cram themselves as far away from it as they can,on the other side of the enclosure.They definately dont like the smell!
