On the advice of several members here I feed Ozzy his first adult F/T mouse.
Wow he seemed to have a time getting it down!
Swallowed it back end first. Spit it out several times but just kept trying and finally he made it.
Made me exhausted just watching, can't imagine how he feels.
He keep trying to swallow it from the side not one of the ends, was like he didn't know how.
He had no problem when it was offered. My son lower into the cage by the tail and he came zooming thru his hide-a-bark or whatever they are called and zapped it toot sweet
Hope he is all broken in now.
Seems like he is looking for another one??? He is only 22" long
I'll give him about 5 days and offer another one.
Just had to share sorry if I rambled

He's probably full, if it was adult, but the feeding response doesn't calm down immediately once it's kicked in. All the snakes I've had have sometimes approached the food from the side or tail, despite my comments like, "No! The head is the other way!" He'll be fine, and it's great that he kept trying until he got it down, especially since it was F/T. It sounds like you have a good feeder on your hands. You might want to bump up to rat pups early.
