I was at the store today, and the mice were all little guys so instead of buying a bunch of little mice i thought id try some rats. They wernt as small as i would have liked, but they wernt adults and i thought i would try and see if my snakes would eat them.
So anyway i got home and put a rat in for the boy and he took it,meanwhile the girl noticed what was goin on and was trying to check out how to get closer to the rat so i gave her one and she took it right away.it looked like it would be a job swallowing em but they seemed to have no problems. Now they are nice and fat.
And my lil girl just shed the other day-shes growing like a weed.

thanks for reading my boring outburst,i was happy and had to share

    first rats

    great news!!!,congrats!!!
I'm still working on suith her over dead prey before giving her a rat. I just think that it could be really dangerous to put a rat in there and then when she is swallowing the rat just start reacting and bite her or something.Anyway that is really cool that you didn't have any trouble changing to rats.

the rats were very dead before they started to swallow em.I was afraid they might be to excited and grab the rat in a bad spot and allow the rat to bits back while there constricting, but the rats were too busy trying to get a breath to try biting back.

I'm always afraid of that with my two little bp's that don't eat f/t. Good luck with the rats!
