Tank Temp. Help

I have a 20 gallon long tank with a screen top. I am having trouble keeping the temps in the tank up. I have a heat lamp on the warm side and an under tank heating pad in that end too.The warm end is around 80-82. I have put a towel on the top of the cool end to trap some heat but i cant get it past 72 degrees. The humidity is good at around 65. The room temp is kind of cool. Can anyone give me some suggestions to help with my problem?

I have a similar setup but my warm side stays in the 90-95 range.
I have 3/4 of the screen lid sealed with duct tape then on the warm side where the heat light is I have alum. foil around the light with about 2" opening all way around light for air flow. This seems to keep it very warm. If you can direct the heat flow for the room try getting the room in general warmer. My cool side stays about 80-83 during the day and at night I cool it off to about 75-80 and warm side about 85-90.

90-95 is a bit on the hot side IMO.

But yeah put some duct tape on the lid (cover about 1/3 of it at first, then add/remove as necessary. I have a 40gallon breeder with a 100W CHE and a 50W Red Repti bulb ( the red bulb on the cool side, and the CHE on the warm... and i have them in 8" metal light domes i got from work (Lowe's) for $7... instead of $20 at a petstore with duct tape covering the middle third of the tank. Also my waterbowl is below the ducttape so the humidity won't escape to directly. And I use cooked cypress mulch as substrate with a heat pad under the hot side of the tank on medium.

My temps stay solid betweej 83 on the cool side and 90 on the hot side durin the day and drop down to 80-87 at night.

I'm working a similar set up, and I have a uth on one end and a lamp on the other, and my temps stay between 88-92. (with 3/4 of the screen lid covered).

I have a 50 gallon breeder w/ sliding screen top, UTH on warm side, 160 watt infrared bulb on cool side, Duct tape covering entire top w/ exception of where lights are and a Tropic-Aire Humidifier & Air Exchanger w/ air pump.

Day temps: WARM 90-92
COOL 80-85

Night temps: usually drop about 2 degrees on each side. Humidity 50-60% consistently.
