    I'm making two rubbermaid homes tomorrow, thanks for sharing...

    I think I'm gonna cut out a big rectangle for the uvb fixture, then cut a piece of wire mesh a bit bigger. Then hold the mesh over the fire in our wood stove till it's red. When dropped on it'll melt itself into the plastic perfectly! Total cost- 15$

    It's for my anoles and some house geckos.

    how funny...my bro ripped the screen on one of my lids, so i cut some plastic the size of the holes and held a lighter(lit.,.haha) under the...worked like a charm. if you hold the light right up next to the plastic it wont turn brown. but it would deffintaly warp. so just in case your idea doesnt work (i doubt it wouldnt) you could do that.

    Well, the rubbermaid is made of some heavy duty stuff that doesn't melt easily.... So I drilled holes and used those little twisty things you get on loafs of bread to hold the screen down. Real nift. My anoles are in paradise...
