    Happy Holidays everyone!!!
On sunday my girlfriend and I had stopped by a local pet store in the Phoenix Valley, OMG!
The store front, animal display was worse than I had seen before, all the animal cages had (cold blooded and warm blooded) poo, poo, and more poo! and the smell, GEEEZZ man, come on!
While observing and walking around, the owner/manager approached and asked if we need help with anything, I asked him kind of smart assed, "boy, all these cages, must be alot to maintain! huh?He just said yep and that was that, he moved on to the next.
The habbitats' condition was B>S> in my opinon, what if anything can be done about this?
I had been in there some time ago and it was in this condition, and thinking perhaps it was a bad day back then, now I'm sure that that one bad day was no bad day, just laziness and neglecked
Is there anything that can be done about this guys???
Let me in on your opinion,
    Ryan

Reprot them to your local humane society or animal welfare. Tell then this place has a habit of being like that. Something will get done.

A similar sounding pet shop here in Tucson was shut down by the Humane Society and Animal Control a few years ago. The animals were seized and taken to facilities where they could receive proper care. Sadly, many were too sick to save, but those that weren't received proper veterinary care followed by proper husbandry.

A first visit by Animal Control or the Humane Society which finds deplorable conditions usually results in a "fix it" type warning with the promise of a follow up inspection. It is not necessarily an automatic shut down, but it can be a stern "wake up call" to the owner/management of the shop.

    Go for it.

Report them to either your local animal control officers, humane societies, and or department of agriculture / environmental protection.
If you can remember the last dates that you have gone in there let them know. just so they understand that it has been an ongoing problem.
If you need any other ideas if no one is listening to your complaint etc, just post them here.
this is a great group with lots of support.
One last thing, Good job in reporting them, sadly many people just over look "pet store problems" which is why they are able to stay in operation and continue selling sick and neglected animals. so good for you!!

Well, hopefully my call to the AZ Humane Society animal cruelty dept will help!!! I hope!
The guy that I spoke with said they would send out an investigation officer to go to the pet store and see what they come up with.
I guess the balls in their court now. I'm gonna call back on the 2nd of the New Year and see what was discovered.
