Well, Bubba was out and exploring earlier, and he was trying so hard to get out of his tank that I just couldn't resist. I took him out and played around with him for about 30 minutes, learned a lot about him. He likes to be handled, seems to enjoy it anyway. Unlike Peanut, he prefers to be sort of balled up, not defensively but just for comfort. I also learned I'm going to have a wonderful time trying to untangle this beast from lots of fun stuff, like computer chairs. Here are a few pics I snapped...

Here is a full pic of him, one of the only... he's a pretty big boy. hard to get his whole body in one frame.

Here he is just kinda' chillin' on my hat.

    A nice close up..

And one more, this one's my favorite.

But let's not forget about my little homie Peanut.

no, not positive. however I really don't care either way. If it turns out to be a female whenever I can find someone to probe it, i'll keep Bubba in the 30 gallon and let Peanut live in the newer cage.

Currently Keeping - 4 ball pythons, a redtail boa, and a cali king. Now look, admit it. You know you want to give me an albino ball python.

Oh, parent's aren't the problem at my house. I live in the basement, they wouldn't have even known I was getting the snake if I hadn't told them. Keep working on your dad, show him how responsible you are with your first bp... he'll give in...

I guess I am one of the lucky ones. My dad had snakes before I was even born, so luckily I have been around them my entire life. Now im passing it to my children and they can do the same with thiers.
The only difference between tattooed people and non-tattooed people is....

....Tattooed people don't care if you're not tattooed.

I could never have snakes when I was a kid because both parents are a bit phobic of them. I guess I can't judge them too harshly about that because I refused to let my daughter have a pet tarantula when she was younger because of my arachnaphobia. I'd probably be a lot more tolerant of it now, since I'm getting the phobia more under control in my old age, enough even to start admiring the incredible design of spiders, even if they do give me the willies.

It's great my wife likes the reptiles, too. This weekend, I took Magellan out to see how he was doing, since he'd been keeping to his hide box. After holding him for a few minutes, my wife asked to see him and she ended up with him snuggled up under her fleece sweatshirt for quite a while. That was Saturday evening, and last night (Sunday) she went over to his enclosure and took him out again. I'm wondering if he's going to end up being "her" snake...

if it ends up being her snake that means you can get another snake
or if she starts to like snakes enough you can buy her one of her own

if she spends enough time then she'll end up addicted to them just like everyone else here then you can have snakes gallore!!!
Girlfriend: Your room smells like reptile!!!
Me: Are you saying my balls smell??
