    large ball python size

Hey, odd and probably simple question. What in grams is a "large breeder." You see all over the place about some one breeding their large male/female but you never see the weight of the breeder. I know what breeding weight is. Its the extremes that I'm looking for. Thanks guys.

To me a large breeder is anything over 3,000 grams but I'm sure that it varies.

Never really thought about it before, but 3000 grams sounds about good to me...

The largest male I've bred was around 1,100 grams, so not all that large...my largest female was at 3200 grams when she laid this year. The largest female I've seen was in the 4500 gram range.

Same here, 3k gets to the big girl state. I have seen/heard of people breeding BP females up to 5k  wish I had me some big ladies like that!

My two biggest girls are sitting at 3400 and 3900 grams respectively.

My 3900 gram girl is due to lay any day now. She is pushing 6 feet long and is my favorite in the collection.

The 3400 gram girl is an import, and it is my hope she is the fabled Ghana Giant, and will one day reach the mythical 8000 gram mark.

I would agree with 3K. Ah yes, when it comes to ball pythons EVERYONE loves the big girls

angllady2, good luck with your mythical BP, that would be awesome. Isn't there a certain locale of BP that does get very large like that? I thought I read about one once....
