New lady normal possible het albino
I got this new lady last weekend. She is as sweet as a puppy dog. I got her off CL, but the picture of the snake on the add was a black back (which is why I was interested in her). Long story short, they had also put a picture of their male for sale in the same add, which was the black back. Anyways, I bought the snake and here she his. Not what I had expected, but I really do love her. She weighed in at 1023g and is supposed to be 66% pos het albino.
No way for me to prove that until I breed her though. I just hope she's really a she  . They told me she was for sure the female and I popped her gently and all I got out was some leftover poops. They said she was 2 years old. Right now she is set up in other rack in another room. Should I keep her in there 3 months to make sure she is healthy? Oh, and there is another thing, the previous owners sent me a picture of her with the male in the same tank. I am afraid she could be gravid. Is there a chance even though she is just over 1000g? I'm not really prepared for that, haha.

Personally I don't care who I make a new purchase from I qt them all for at least 90 days. I have no want to risk my established collection.
It is possible for her to be gravid at that size. It wouldn't be good for her, but I have seen crazier things happen. May I ask why you think that she could be gravid though?

Just because it looked like they had her caged in a 55 gallon with the male they had that was breeding size. I don't want her to be gravid at her size, I just want to be prepared in case it is possible.

Ok, that makes sense. Just keep an eye on her for signs of actually being breed. Watch for things like bowl wrapping or an ovulation.

Good looking girl and I hope she proves out for you. Like Dragonboy said, I'd keep her in quarantine at least 90 days just to be safe. And you might keep an eye on her for signs of being gravid and maybe get an egg box and incubator on the ready (not necessarily buy them) but just be prepared to do so if things come to that. Or you could always do maternal incubation...if she proves gravid, of course! Nice pick up and she looks to be in great shape for some of the animals I've seen listed or taken in from Craigslist.

Well she took her first meal for me tonight. It took a little patience, but she took f/t so I'm not complaining. She had a sm rat which is not a big enough meal for her but it's what I had. Previous owners said she ate every 3 weeks. Looking forward to getting her chunked up  Named her Mollie.
