My boyfriend bought me my ball python, Ribbon, for my birthday last weekend, and on the first night he had her, she bit him. We figured she was just kinda scared and stressed about moving. She was a perfect angel for the rest of the week, but he wasn't around her much. Then today, I had her around my neck and she crawled up through my hair and was wrapping around my ponytail, and he was just sitting beside me, not doing anything, when she lunged at him with her mouth open. She was too far away from him to actually bite him. Does anyone have any explanations for this?

Currently Keeping - 4 ball pythons, a redtail boa, and a cali king. Now look, admit it. You know you want to give me an albino ball python.

im sorry i couldn't resist... is your boyfriend nervous around the snake? snakes can sense that. tell him to just let his hands become the substrate, and move slowly. imo, ball pythons enjoy being handled...

    New bp.

If he has any rodents or maybe even any mammals as pets then she may smell them.
