    Hi all,
I am in major need of a new car.
I've seen alot of you guys posting pics of your vehicles and such, so I thought I'd ask a car question
Now remember we live on VERY limited money.
But I'm looking into a KIA. It's really all I think we can afford, But for eleven k is there any better cars out there with the famouse kia / hyundia warentee? ( I have a feeling that kia's are very"plastic")
Right now I drive a 91 Ford Crown Vic LTD, an old cruiser. But she only cost me about 600$ and REALLY needs to be retired....lol
    Thanks for any imput.

My Uncle has a Kia, they are ok. It's made for tiny little asians, so you will not find it very comfortable. They are pretty plastic, yeah...

Do some surfing in the classifieds, unless you want a brand spankin new car. You can get a pretty nice car for 5,000 our of classifieds around here. I really know nothing about cars. I learned what a carberatur was like a week ago. I'm learning.

I had a Kia..they suck. But that is just my opinion, I may have just had bad luck with it, I dont know. I just wont have another one. I stick with Chevy's now- and only chevy. Look in your local news paper, I bet you find plenty of cars that you can buy outright, saving you the head ache of a car payment and rediculous insur. payments. My truck is a good example of what you can find, it is a 4x4 and runs like a champ.. and I only spent $600.00 for the truck. The truck may not be as "pretty" as others, but, beauty is in the eye of the beholder..as long as my truck runs well, plays well and so on, I dont care what others say.

    Thanks for responding,
    Here's a full story,
The Ford I have now was about600$ worked well for the past two years but dieing now, the car before that was an 87 VW Jetta bought for 400$, both cars worked good for me alone, But I've recently married my best friend of ten years and he/we have a wonderfull 4 yr old. I happen to be the only driver in the household due to my husbands disabilities. So low and behold I have responsibilities..lol So Not haveing any money and needed a "waranteed" dependable car I am going to need to have a car payment (I never saw the point of a car payment, but will have to deal with it now I guess), Plus my ford now has no heat (28 degrees today..lol) and I need to get a heated car for us and the herps (we do transportation alott)
Any how that's my long and annoying car rant. I think I'm just fishing for a Happy Kia owner, but their seems to be none to be found..lol
    Thanks guys

I keep forgetting that you're a woman, cause the name Rusty, and as I read that I saw he, thought you were a guy married to a guy. Then I realized that wasn't legal yet, and it finally remembered you are a woman. LOL! I almost thought you were gay, though there is nothing wrong with that.

    Oops.

It doesn't seem like you're gonna be beating the crap out of this car, so it'd be fine if you went with a Kia, or another import. Some aren
    t too bad.

I think if you are going to go with an import, go with a Honda.. for the money, they are great. Good on gas, comfortable..etc. as long as you get the newer ones, the older ones tended to be tiny.. but, fair word of warning.. I have had lots of different imports, and I think you have to pick and choose through them carefully. Also, be aware..if it breaks down, you may have trouble getting parts, they are often difficult or impossible for you to work on them yourself..unless you are good at that stuff. And the parts can kill ya. Thats why I say just stick with not getting imports. The parts are cheaper and easier to come by..etc. I do totally understand your need for a payment even though you are not really wanting it, but we got to do what we got to do. If I can help anymore with this desicion, let me know, for a girl... I am pretty informed and know alot about cars/trucks .. LOL I am the only one in this household to work on my own truck, I wont let my hubby under the hood, he is about as mechanically inclined as a monkey screwing a foot ball... sorry honey- but you know it is the truth.

Joe is back in circulation! (Movie links!)

If I were you I'd keep the Crown Vic! I just had to sell our '89 Grand Marquis recently and I almost cried. But that's just me, a Ford lover at heart... funny, my heat just crapped out on me too (climate control unit is finally shot). I don't know too much about newer cars or imports, but all I can say is I've heard good things about Hondas. That's about it, lol, sorry I'm not more informative!

Maybe I'll shop for a Chevy, I never really thought of a chevy before, Not big on Fords, as I'm dealing with this one. Maybe I'll look at chevy sedans or something.
Crap I'd rather just mountain bike. but with the husband, our little boy and the herps it's not always possible, even thou my husband does bike well, and we have a trailer for our little one, Maybe I can just put heat packs in that thing and transport the herps..lol

I am a chick...lol Don't worry I'm used to it, ecspecially since I do the PR work for rusty's dragons, you should hear when a man calls us to remove a snake from his house / property and Little ol' me shows up..lol
"oh, oh, yeah I coulda got that little snake you know"..lol the men who call us sometimes just don't know what to think..No offence, I'm sure the men on this forum can hold there own..lol but it is funny.
    Thanks'
