Never ever get inside a cage to clean the windows from the inside. Last night I was performing my typical cleaning tasks when I figured the cage windows needed a cleaning. So satisifieds I figured if I got in I could wash them better and in different spots. It's sliding glass by the way. So I get in this 5x2x2, and I'm over 6'. So I'm cramped in, and I did not shut the heat lights off. It was baking in there, with a 100 watt, and a 50 watt. So I'm getting out and manage to burn my back, then I lift my knee and it gets put on the 50watt. Ouch! I managed to escape with just that. So a few minutes later I notice the skin bubbling.

So kids, never go inside a cage to clean it.

Yep...just another reason why rack systems are so much easier!!!

    Loser!

Yeah they are.. for now this is my "rack system". It's kinda small, but my first one I've ever made, and I think I did rather nicely on it. The enclosures look different now than in this pic, there is aspen shavings in each one. It works rather nicely for me.

I hope that worked! I'm new to using the photo gallery... we'll see.

I sure hope if I get a cage big enough to "barely fit in it" I won't push my luck! LOL!!

I just realized.....it's weird how I can say nice rack to someone here and they instantly know what I mean. Sorry, hehe, realized it after I posted.

I seem to remember getting myself stuck inside a ferret cage when I was younger. I crawled in there to see if I could fit though, not to clean it, lol. And I feel your pain as far as lightbulbs go -- ouch!
