Should we move ball-pythons.net, the entire site, to a new domain name that is more...open? Ball-Pythons.Net may influence new members into thinking we are a TOTALLY ball python community, maybe it'd help.

Do you guys think it is a needed change, or is this sufficient?

Personally I think it is just fine the way it is. Just glad it is not up to me to make the decision.
The only difference between tattooed people and non-tattooed people is....

....Tattooed people don't care if you're not tattooed.

I guess one thing to look at is how large the Ball Python forums over at KS have gotten, despite the fact that it could appear to be just a "Kingsnake" forum based on the domain name.

Whatever domain name this group is under, it has several things going for it:

    1. This is an open, friendly, and helpful group of people. That's going to go a long way towards promoting growth in the group.

    2. The format of the forums is very user friendly and accessible.

    3. Search engines like Google are going to find the various forums no matter what domain name they're under. People looking for information or simply fellowship can click through from the search engine, check things out, and stay if they like what they see. Based on #1 above, I think a good percentage will stay if they take the time to read through some of the postings.

    4. This forum has easy image hosting for our "show and tell" pictures, rather than having to go find image hosting at another site.

Personally, I think between recommendations from members already here, and search engine hits, this group is going to grow no matter where we are. The growth will start out slow, but as the group gets larger, it'll pick up speed. It's up to you, but sometimes a consistent address is better for "business" than a more "noteworthy" address.
We do not quit playing because we grow old; we grow old because we quit playing.
